"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not, genius will not, education will not. The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."
Calvin Coolidge
"Between 2 and 5 per thousand cannabis users get into trouble."
Dutch Cannabis Policy Update 2000

Project Trichome

If we want our freedom we're going to have to demand it.

We're going to have to let those people who govern our activities know why we want cannabis to be legalised.

Each of us must take the responsibility of writing to our MP, our council and the local police. Moreover we must also make sure two other people do the same. Those two people encourage two more and so on.

If the politicians are Liberal Democrats write to congratulate. Say the reason we have or will vote for them is because of their position on cannabis. If they're Tory or Labour tell them we'll vote Liberal Democrats unless they change their position. If you're writing to the police tell them why they should de-prioritise all cannabis offences.

These letters don't have to be long and email is fine. There are tools here to help, such as suggested points to make, a few prepared paragraphs, and links to find the addresses you need.

This whole process only has to take an hour and the effects will be amazing. If an MP gets 20 letters on a topic they take it seriously. If this idea catches on we could have a political majority in our favour by Christmas.

There are six million cannabis smokers in this country, many of whom will be disaffected with politics. We are exactly the people politicians chase after in elections. This gives us a great deal of political power should we choose to use it. Our votes could make the difference in marginal seats up and down the country.

Politicians are the only people who can change this law. Politicians care about votes. Let's show them just how many votes legalising cannabis will bring.
